Wayward Vegan Cafe, Seattle WA

Location: 5253 University Way Northeast, Seattle, WA 98105, USA

The place Raymond was most excited about eating at again was Wayward Vegan Cafe. He misses the American style breakfast more than I do as I prefer the German style breakfast - not as greasy and unhealthy or big. We used to eat at Wayward every week and we did eat there as often as we could on our visit. The first trip we started with a cinnamon roll which was so delicious. They were not too sweet and still warm from the oven. Perfect!

We also ordered a cool breeze omelet - fried chicken, diced ham, cheddar cheese with a Dijon mayo sauce. This was my favorite omelet before and it was still pretty tasty. Raymond said it was more mustardy than he remembered, but I found it delicious. It was a ton of food though - I don't know how we ate so much every weekend.

We also tried the new breakfast burger - sausage, avocado, tomato, american cheese and an omelet round on a toasted bun served with hash browns (we also ordered a side of mushroom gravy for the hash browns as yum!). I was expecting this to be super good and have a lot of flavor, but it was just lacking. I couldn't really taste any of the components and it all just blended together into a nondescript sandwich. One of the few things I would not order again.

Overall - I still love Wayward, even though it is always a ton of food. One of the few places to get an amazing breakfast.
