Bimbos Cantina, Seattle WA

Location: 1013 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122, USA

We had a groupon for Bimbos Cantina so we decided to head there for happy hour one night after work. I had heard that they had vegan options and vegan cheese available and we were not disappointed. We started with some nachos - vegan cheese, jalapenos, green onions, pico. They were so tasty! Raymond even liked them (he is picky with vegan cheeses and doesn't like most of them). Definitely would go back for more.

We also tried the garlic roasted potato tacos  - potatoes, vegan cheese, lettuce and homemade pico de gallo salsa. These were also really tasty. The potatoes were spiced well and everything went together.

And last up was the Fajita burrito - rice, beans, vegan cheese, vegan sour cream, grilled red and green peppers and onions with vegan chipotle chicken. Delicious! The chipotle chicken was not super spicy and the fajita veggies were super tasty.  I would definitely go back and order this again.

Overall - Bimbos had lots of tasty treats and they have lots of vegan options (or things that can be made vegan). Their margaritas are also delicious!

Dirty South, Berlin Germany

When we stopped by Cupcake to get treats I had to use the restroom. They didn't actually have one there but they had one at their restaurant across the street, Dirty South. The sign outside said vegan options and when I walked in I instantly loved it. It is an American tex-mex bar and I loved the decor and the feel of the place. They have a few vegan options one of which was the vegan nachos. Chips with vegan chili, salsa, and guacamole. This was really tasty. I would not call the beans on it chilli - they were just like beans lightly spiced, but they were super tasty. And the guacamole was incredible. All in all it was super good and I will go back for it again. I didn't even miss a cheese substitute as it was good enough by itself.

We also tried the New Orleans vegan cajun tacos - cajun tofu with rice, corn and tomatoes in a corn tortilla. I really enjoyed this even though the tofu did not have a ton of flavor, the taco was stuffed super full so it was pretty messy to eat.

Overall - I really liked Dirty South. The food was tasty and I just really liked the feel of the place. We also had some tasty drinks and it was just a very pleasant way to spend an evening.

Wayward Vegan Cafe, Dinner, Seattle WA

Wayward Vegan Cafe is always a favorite of ours. Even more so now that they serve dinner foods. On this visit we decided to try the nachos. These came with diced tomatoes and onions, jalapenos, taco meat and cheese sauce with a side of pico de gallo. I really enjoyed these - the cheese sauce was very light and creamy and the taco meat was delicious. They were not Raymond's favorite.

We also tried their BBQ bacon burger - burger patty with fried onions, tempeh bacon, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce. I really like their house made burger patty. I'm not sure what they use as the base but it is delicious. That with the tempeh bacon and fried onions and BBQ sauce is so good! I really enjoyed the burger.

Overall - We had another great meal at Wayward.I am so glad they are now open for dinner as it is another nice option.

Eat, Drink & Perch, Vancouver BC

Location: 1701 Powell St, Vancouver, BC V5L 0A2, Canada
From Vegan Gastrobot
After the letdown of The Foundation not having vegan nachos I was pretty excited to try out the ones at Perch. We ordered a half order of the vegan nachos as we were not that hungry. This was still a HUGE plate of food. These nachos were also amazing – fancier than normal nachos. They consisted of lemon hummus on the bottom of the plate, layers of tortilla chips, daiya cheese, jalapenos, sun dried tomatoes, olives, artichoke hearts, onions and tomatoes, served with some Pico de Gallo. Sun dried tomatoes on nachos? Yes please! They were amazing! The flavor just melted together into a huge pile of deliciousness. I would highly recommend these nachos.

We also tried the BBQ tofu nuggets. These were really tasty as well. They were a little bit spicy and it was a dry BBQ and I think the tofu might have been frozen first. I am not really sure as I don’t particularly like pre-frozen tofu as it makes it like a sponge….but this was meatier than normal tofu, but not like a sponge so I am not sure how they prepared it. Whatever they did it worked and was amazing.

Overall – I loved Perch. It was a tiny place in an odd location (not much around it but warehouses), but the food was amazing. I wish we would have had time to go back and try some of the vegan pizzas and sandwiches. Or just hang out with a drink and some nachos…Maybe next time.
